He served as Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus and was a member of the House Judiciary Committee, where he played a pivotal role in shaping legislation affecting the civil justice system.

Robert is an active member of the legal community, belonging to the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He has also contributed to legal education as an adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law. Outside of work, Robert is a member of Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia.
